JONATHAN KOLTZ, Assistant General Counsel

State Advisory II

Jonathan Koltz has been with Legal Division since 2012, and has served in both the State & Federal Advisory and Federal Advisory Sections.  From 2018 to 2021 he worked for Commissioner Martha Guzman Aceves, serving as her Telco and Legal Advisor and, from January 2020 to December 2021, her Chief of Staff.  Before coming to the Commission, he also worked in publishing, performed research for a counter-terrorism think tank, worked as a Starbucks barista, and almost became a Buddhist monk.

Jonathan has a BA in history from Vassar College, an MA in international history from the London School of Economics, and a JD from the George Mason University School of Law.
