Workshop Purpose: The Energy Division’s Gas Policy and Reliability section staff will host a virtual public workshop on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm to gather stakeholder and public input on the mapping requirement outlined in Public Utilities Code Section 661(a), adopted by Senate Bill (SB) 1221 (Min 2024).
Intended Outcome: Energy Division staff will consider this input as the CPUC moves towards implementing its role in SB 1221.

- Judges, commissioners, and/or their advisors may attend the workshop.
- This workshop is not associated with any CPUC proceeding.
- The workshop will be recorded.
Background:
Public Utilities Code 661(a):
On or before July 1, 2025, and each year thereafter, each gas corporation shall submit to the commission a map that includes all of the following:
- The location of all potential gas distribution line replacement projects identified in its distribution integrity management plan and any foreseeable gas distribution pipeline replacements.
- The city, county, and census tract boundaries within the gas corporation’s service territory.
- Locations of disadvantaged communities, tribes, and priority neighborhood decarbonization zones, as designated by the commission pursuant to Section 662, that are within the gas corporation’s service territory.
- Any additional information required by the commission.
