California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) safety engineers work to keep communities safe by performing regular safety inspections on equipment that generates and supplies energy to your community. This equipment, or energy infrastructure, includes power plants, electric transmission lines, electric substations, electric distribution lines, and gas pipelines. The safety inspection can last from approximately one week up to four weeks. No action is required by the public.

Inspection reports will be posted approximately 180 days after completing the inspection.

If you have questions about the inspection/audit schedule, contact Business and Community Outreach at outreach@cpuc.ca.gov.
