Power Plant Standards

The Electric and Safety Reliability Branch (ESRB) helps maintain reliable electric generation for the public by ensuring power plants comply with GO 167-B Maintenance, Operation, and Logbook Standards. GO 167-B specifies who must file compliance documents according to plant type and capacity. Unless exempt by GO 167-B, Generating Asset Owners (GAO) are required to file the following documents with the Safety and Enforcement Division.

  • Thermal Logbook Verified Statement - Due February 3, 2025
  • Hydroelectric Logbook Verified Statement - Due February 3, 2025

The Commission has authority over the operation and safety of all non-nuclear facilities at and associated with Diablo Canyon Power Plant. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has exclusive authority over nuclear safety.
