Bear Valley, Liberty, and Pacific Power Households to Receive Climate Credit on November Electricity Bills
SAN FRANCISCO– The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) today reminded residential customers of Bear Valley Electric Service, Liberty Utilities, and Pacific Power (PacifiCorp) that they will automatically receive the California Climate Credit on their November electricity bills. The credit provides bill relief while supporting California’s transition to a cleaner energy future.
The November California Climate Credit for residential customers of Bear Valley is $17.52; $71.98 for Liberty Utilities; and $111.83 for Pacific Power.
Key Highlights
- Automatic Savings, No Action Required: Customers do not need to apply or sign up. The credit is automatically applied to eligible residential electricity bills, regardless of energy consumption. Any remaining credit balance will carry forward to the next month’s bill.
- Updated Timing for Bill Relief: The CPUC approved changes in April 2026 to deliver residential Climate Credits during months with higher energy bills. Bear Valley, Liberty, and Pacific Power customers receive their 2026 residential electric credits in April and November. In future years, their credits will arrive in October and November.
- Small Business Schedule Remains Unchanged: Qualifying small business customers continue to receive their Climate Credits in April and October.
About the California Climate Credit
The California Climate Credit is funded by the state’s Cap-and-Invest Program, which limits greenhouse gas emissions and requires major emitters to obtain allowances or offsets for their emissions. Allowance auctions managed by the California Air Resources Board generate revenue that supports investments across California or is returned to utility customers through Climate Credits.
The CPUC’s updated residential credit schedule implements Assembly Bill 1207, which extended Cap-and-Invest through 2045 and requires Climate Credits to be delivered during months with higher bills. The changes are intended to help households manage seasonal energy costs while advancing California’s climate goals.
