October 15, 2019 -

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold an emergency meeting pursuant to Government Code section 11125.5, as follows:

WHEN: Friday, October 18, 2019, 1 p.m.

WHERE: CPUC Auditorium, 505 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco; also available via webcast at www.adminmonitor.com/ca/cpuc/ or listen-only phone line at 1-800-857-1917, passcode 92105

WHY: Top Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) executives have been called upon by the CPUC to publicly address the mistakes and operational gaps identified in the utility’s latest Public Safety Power Shut-off (PSPS) events and to provide lessons learned to ensure they are not repeated. This emergency meeting is intended to ensure CPUC Commissioners and staff have as much information as possible and can take additional actions as necessary to mitigate severe risks to public health and safety ahead of future PSPS events triggered by PG&E.

The agenda for the meeting is at http://docs.cpuc.ca.gov/PublishedDocs/Published/G000/M318/K026/318026773.pdf.
