Explore California's Updated Broadband Map and Help Improve Internet Access
New on the Web

The CPUC has released a new update to the California Interactive Broadband Map, a tool designed to help the public, policymakers, and internet service providers better understand where broadband is available across the state, and where it’s still lacking.
The map now shows end-of-year 2023 broadband availability and adoption data, giving a detailed snapshot of where Californians have access to high-speed internet and how many are using it. (You may wonder why the data reflects the end of 2023. Collecting broadband data from across California takes time, especially when it comes to validating information before publishing.)
This update includes two new layers on the map:
- Availability of broadband service at the federal standard of 100 Mbps download / 20 Mbps upload
- Adoption levels showing how many people are actually using broadband at those speeds
A new Public Feedback button lets Californians share information on their real-world internet experience. This helps the CPUC fine-tune data and identify areas that need support.
You’ll also find a helpful walkthrough and User Guide to make navigating the map easier than ever. Data is available for download, and can be used by grant applicants, researchers, and advocates.
