Rate Change Advisories
Throughout the year, electric and gas utilities submit requests to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to change rates. These rate changes, also called tariff changes, reflect the implementation of previously authorized CPUC orders (including decisions, resolutions, or advice letters). Each rate change can reflect the implementation of one or more prior CPUC orders. A rate change that reflects multiple orders is often referred to as a consolidated rate and tariff change.
Rate Advisory (or rate alert) notices can be found on the respective utility websites. These notices are produced by the utilities at the direction of the CPUC to provide transparency for customers about electric and gas rates.
